Nashville, TN.- The NAHCC and Belmont University's Center for Executive Education will announce today a new Strategic Partnership to develop the next generation of world-class Hispanic business leaders.
To accomplish that mission, the two organizations will commit to work together to develop effective strategies and tactics to bring specific measurable benefits to the Hispanic business community.
Acquiring a recognized degree designed to prepare and further develop the skills required for careers in business and management sounds ideal to any aspiring Hispanic entrepreneur in today's competitive business world. Earning, an MBA for instance, continues to be important but it is extremely challenging. And While having an MBA does not guarantee success, it has a high value in an increasingly competitive entrepreneur market. Professional and advanced degrees are also becoming key to the success of an emergent entrepreneur.
For an initial area of focus, NAHCC has identified The Mini MBA™ program as a good fit for Hispanic entrepreneurs. The Mini MBA™ business skills program provides a fast and practical way for mid-career professionals to broaden their business skills and expand their knowledge in functional business areas. This learning experience offers an overview of the core subject areas normally found in a business school MBA degree program, providing participants with skills and information needed to keep themselves and their businesses competitive. For one night per week for 14 weeks, students are immersed in a module focusing on a single critical business discipline. The Mini MBA™ business skills program leads to a certificate in management upon completion.
“The Hispanic business community continues to grow in importance to our area’s economic vitality and quality of life. Given our mission to develop leaders who make a real difference to our community, we are particularly excited to engage with Hispanic business leaders, and explore innovative approaches to Executive Education that will truly meet their needs." says Gene Mage, Executive Director for The Center for Executive Education at Belmont University.
Belmont is the only private university in Tennessee to have met the quality standards to achieve business and specialized accounting accreditation by AACSB International— The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business for its undergraduate and graduate business programs. This dual accreditation places Belmont among the less than 1% of the world’s business schools to achieve both business and accounting accreditation. In addition, Belmont's Entrepreneurship program has been named a National Model Undergraduate Program by the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) and recognized as a Top 25 program for the past five years by The Princeton Review for Entrepreneur magazine.
"Hispanic entrepreneurs are leading the way in our country. Studies have shown that small, minority-owned businesses face a variety of challenges. With that in mind, one of our goals is to help improve business owner strategy and provide the tools and resources they need to succeed by advancing them via strategic educational opportunities. Beyond any doubt, and from a global perspective, education is indeed the great equalizer" says Yuri Cunza, NAHCC President & CEO.
Sharing a joint mission of strengthening Nashville’s business environment through the development of effective business leaders, both the NAHCC and Belmont University envision a partnership based on engaging with and listening to the needs of the Hispanic business community. Based on those on-going conversations, both organizations will work together to enhance executive education offerings to meet identified needs, to equip Hispanic business leaders at all levels to be even more effective contributors to our vibrant Nashville economy.
The Strategic Partnership will be announced today (Wed. Aug 2th, 2014) during the NAHCC's Business Networking Mixer scheduled from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Sinema (2600 Franklin Pike #102, Nashville, TN 37204)
If you are interested in attending please RSVP via e-mail to NAHCC board member
