His immigrant journey at a young age ignited profound explorations into existential questions, the concepts of human divinity, and the abstract mysteries of life has shaped his work. His artistic contributions have sparked creativity, encouraged self-reflection, and deepened our understanding of the human experience, earning him this award."

For over 15 years, the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has proudly presented the "NAHCC Best Hispanic Film Award" at the Nashville Film Festival. It recognizes and celebrates Hispanic themed films, specifically acknowledging works that excel in portraying the rich diversity, culture, and storytelling of the Hispanic/Latinx communities.
This award honors filmmakers who have successfully captured the essence of Hispanic heritage contributing to a greater understanding and appreciation of this vibrant and multifaceted culture, fostering inclusivity, and a deeper appreciation of the Hispanic experience in our society.
For over 15 years, the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has proudly presented the "NAHCC Best Hispanic Film Award" at the Nashville Film Festival. The 'NAHCC President’s Award' is bestowed upon Dr. Rolando Toyos, in recognition of his exceptional leadership as the board chair. Dr. Toyos, along with Toyos Clinic, has demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to the mission of NAHCC. His outstanding contributions have not only shaped the direction of the organization but have also significantly advanced the goals and aspirations of the Hispanic business community in Nashville and beyond.
Dr. Toyos, a Board Certified in Ophthalmology specialized in Cataract Surgery, LASIK, Glaucoma, and Dry Eye, is one of the most experienced surgeons in the country, completing over 35,000 cataract surgeries, 20,000 glaucoma laser treatments and 25,000 LASIK surgeries. Dr. Toyos is the inventor of the procedure Intense Pulse Light IPL for Dry Eye Disease. He has trained hundreds of surgeons both nationally and internationally on surgical techniques, medications and new technologies. He has authored several papers and books. One book for medical students was a best seller on college campuses for several years. His newest book Dry Eye Disease Treatment in the Year 2020 has received praised from patients and doctors internationally. Recently the book was translated in Chinese and distributed in Asia. Dr. Toyos has worked with various professional sports teams and organizations like the NFL, NBA, MLB, and World Boxing Association, Memphis Grizzlies, Seattle Mariners, and Memphis Redbirds to name a few and was the President of the Sports Ophthalmology Society of America.
