About the Americas Society and Council of the Americas
www.as-coa.org
The Americas Society and Council of the Americas, headquartered in New York, unite opinion leaders to exchange ideas and create solutions to the challenges of the Americas today. The Americas Society (AS) is the premier forum dedicated to education, debate and dialogue in the Americas. The Council of the Americas (COA) is the premier international business organization whose 183 corporate members share a common commitment to economic and social development, open markets, the rule of law, and democracy throughout the Western Hemisphere.
Funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, the AS/COA Hispanic Integration Initiative promotes the integration of the Hispanic population in new gateway cities like Nashville. It documents, shares and builds upon best practices from nationally as well as locally operating businesses to strengthen existing integration programs and to promote collaboration among organizations. The AS/COA works with national companies and, in Nashville, with local partners such as the Tennessee Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to engage businesses, community groups and public sector leaders that promote integration and to then document their best practices. Our immigrant integration work also involves cities including Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA , Portland, OR and Omaha, NE in addition to Nashville, TN.
